💙 Every morning as soon as you wake, have a meeting with your gut. Place your hand on it and ask it what it feels good about, and anything it doesn’t feel good about and why—in any / all life areas. Let it know that you’ve heard it and appreciate its guidance. Then course correct.

Today’s a day when people can feel lonely, out of sorts, overwhelmed and in need of support.

Since the pandemic, we’ve seen far more open conversations about mental health and wellbeing. Lockdowns and being isolated led to increases in loneliness.

Feeling like you don’t have meaningful or close relationships can be associated with increased symptoms of anxiety and depression.

So if you’re feeling tender, here are 10 ways to get you through this day, and every other day.

1.  Show your future some love

Self-care is self-love. Self-pity won’t attract your Soulmate.

Whether single, partnered up or walking away, true love starts with self-love. Don’t settle, just because.   

We teach others how to treat us. How are you being treated? How are you treating yourself?

Whatever love means to you if you have an empty void inside, only you can fill it.  

In simple terms, if you are not happy with yourself, or with your life, the attraction of a partner will only exaggerate the dis-ease, because any action taken from a place of lack is always going to backfire.

You just have to not let your joy depend upon what anybody else is living, cause that’ll get you every time.  

2.  Connection 

Celebrate when someone tells you good news and follow up by taking an interest and asking them to share more. 

3.  Community 

Intentionally seek out places you feel you belong. This might be within an online community, at a running club, at work, or with a group of friends. Create connections that are mindful and healthy.

4.  Indulge yourself 

Do something you LOVE for no other reason than you can. 

5.  Go on a love rampage 

As you go about your day today, mentally pick out 100 things that you love. 

I love my family 

I love my coffee

I love my home

I love the rain

I love the gym 

I love my dog 

I love my perky bum…

This is a powerful frequency-shifter to add to your goal-getting mindset and manifesting prowess.

Anytime you want to change the way you feel and, at the same time, accelerate your life by attracting things you love. Watch how the law of attraction multiples your thoughts and you’ll receive even more things you love! 

6.  Don’t chase. Attract.

Chasing people is exhausting. Attracting them? Effortless. The secret lies in owning your energy. When you’re aligned and unfiltered, the right people can’t help but come to you.

Truth bomb: Staying in victim mode keeps you in a low vibration attracting low vibe people and things. When you raise your frequency you attract what you want. It’s all in your vibration.

7.  Cue your inner Elsa. LET. IT.GO. 

You can’t let love in if you’re angry or bitter. 

Send an apology to someone you’ve had a fallout with. Even if you think you’re right, resentment takes energy. Energy that can be spent working on yourself. 

Apologise for your part in the fallout. And it’s not about you admitting you’re wrong. It’s about processing your feelings so you can be at peace with the situation.

8.  Love notes to self

Pay attention to any compliments and praise you get and write them down. We’re amazing at remembering criticism and forgetting compliments. Make this a priority at the end of each day and watch what happens.

9.  Raise your self-worth

Make a list of the things you’ve done well so far this year and write down any ‘magic moments’ you’ve had along the way. Do this every day.

10.  Spread the love 

Make someone else feel significant, by telling them something you love or admire about them. If you want to feel great about yourself one of the fastest ways to do that is to make someone else smile.

Today was gym day. And as a diehard lipstick-loving gymshark.

I want to help break the stigma of going to the gym and the health benefits of strength training for women. Because getting fit is at the top of most people’s New Year’s hit list.

After all, your health is your wealth. So whatever your fitness struggle be it:

  • a battle of the bulge
  • lose the mum tum
  • it’s all menopause and muffin tops
  • shed those hideous bingo wings 
  • or cellulite has a stranglehold on you 

There is no pain greater than achieving a fitness goal. What give up carbs? Learn about nutrition? Count macros?!

Health and fitness goals are one of the hardest to crush. They require drive, discipline, determination and consistency, it’s a killer right!?

Because why would you knowingly put yourself through physical pain? We weren’t born to exercise. As hunters and gatherers, we eat to survive, period.

The Pros of Getting Gym Fit

● The before and after shots to die for.

● The nod of approval from fellow gym goers when your transformation doesn’t go unnoticed.

I once had a bodybuilder dude come up to me after a year of training and he said I’d lost weight and that I was fat before (I wasn’t) he had just noticed my before and after.

● The ugly gym face you’re allowed to pull.

● That post-workout feeling, and endorphin rush that lasts all day. 

● That laser-sharp focus that puts you in your zone of genius, where you produce your best work. With intuitive hits and inspirational downloads on tap, you’d think you had been sprinkled with fairy dust.

The Newbie On The Gym Floor 

FEAR OF FAILURE OR SUCCESS?

People prefer the certainty of their current situation rather than the uncertainty of change. Success can make us more visible when we sometimes feel safer staying out of the public eye.

● Folks give you the side eye in the aerobics studio because you don’t know your left from your right, and all you seem to do is get in everyone’s way. Even though you’re already hiding in the back row.

● Painful school memories of PE lessons come flooding back stirring up all your insecurities.

The physical and psychological pain would put anyone off their gym game.

A Lesson in Consistency

It’s more of a mental game than a physical one.

For example, how to hold a 60-second plank without face planting the floor. 

● Mon – start at 30-seconds 

● Tue – add on 5 seconds  

● Wed – add on 5 seconds  

● Thur – add on 5 seconds  

● Fri – add on 5 seconds  

● Sat – add on 5 seconds  

● Sun – add on 5 seconds. Goal reached.

Rinse and repeat. 

Apply this strategy to walking, running, cycling, swimming and ALL your 2025 goals.

You climb a mountain one stone at a time.

Arbitrary long-term goals are not motivating. You need to find something that moves you NOW. Short-term goals are how you get motivated and start to develop discipline.

Achieving the goal isn’t the goal. Learning about your limitations while you pursue the goal, is the goal. This is how you get stronger, fitter, faster.

Mental Health Needs Physical Support

Going to the gym is part of your life because you don’t just go to the gym, get lean and then all of a sudden stop. It’s an integral part of your whole life.  

Take inventory on the way you relate to your body and how you relate to your work. Notice any similarities.

A lot of our food shame and eating habits stem from our childhood, especially for girls.

Everything from:

  • comfort eating 
  • yo-yo dieting
  • counting calories  
  • under eating
  • over eating
  • binge eating and every other kinda eating  

I ping-ponged from under eating (body shame issues as a teen); to eating out of boredom (trying to fill a void within); to eating for the sake of it, because I had the belief there wasn’t enough food / it would run out (linked to the money belief of there’s not enough).

Playing The Long Game 

Adopt a lifestyle change. Because why should fitness be a total buzzkill?

Here are some of the health benefits of working out:

My physical transformation goes far beyond the walls of the gym. The entire experience has been about building mental fortitude and physical discipline, which carries over into everything.

I got into the shape of my life—hiked to Everest BC and climbed a mountain at 50 AND maintained that fitness level five years later.

Strength training is the BEST cellulite buster out there. Because muscle EATS fat. If that’s not an incentive enough I don’t know what is!

It not only protects your joints and ligaments as you age, it staves off osteoporosis and increases cognitive function. Strength training actually makes you smarter.

Pumping iron isn’t just for the weights either—your heart does it every day. In 2025, make a pact to work as hard for your heart as it does for you. 

So, girls, it’s time to get your sweat on. Just think of those juicy glutes, smooth thighs, killer abs and sculpted arms just waiting to emerge, ready for bikini season ooh in about five months…

You Don’t Need Motivation Or WillpowerYou Need A Reason 

Picture this: it’s 5 am on a cold dark December morning the alarm goes off, it’s gym day, but you’re all snuggled up in your goose down.

Imagine this: it’s now 7 am. It’s light, the sun is out but you’ve missed your gym slot because you pressed snooze instead.

Then this happens: it’s 11 am and you’re starting to feel angsty and guilty because you’re kicking yourself for not working out when you had the time. If only…

Nobody wants to jump out of bed at 5 am but compare the short-term feeling of comfort to what you would feel later in the day because you didn’t work out (if you’re anything like me, irritable AF). 

Which would you rather feel? Short-term comfort vs all-day mood swings? 

We’d make more progress if we spent less time negotiating and bargaining with ourselves and just did the damn thing.

Exercise is meant to be fun even if it gets spicy at times, this is how you get fitter and stronger for longer. It’s not meant to be torture.

My biggest business breakthrough? Learning that self-care isn’t just about wellness it’s a high-performance tool and it starts with discipline.

You’re Focusing on The Wrong ‘C’. 

If you want to be more confident, focus on charisma. Which is essentially the art of being influential, impactful, likeable and magnetic. 

The mad thing is many people think charisma is some kind of personality trait that you’re born with that you either ‘have’ (cue 007) or you don’t.

But Charisma is a SKILL and like any skill, can be mastered through practice. By leaving a positive impression on people and making them feel good about themselves which means you can influence and inspire people DRAMATICALLY, enhance your impact in meetings, negotiations and public speaking.

You don’t ever have to be a crazy confident hyped-up leader. Just be authentically rebellious. Being charismatic makes you super persuasive without being bossy or pushy by finding your voice and holding your space. And gives you that Executive Presence to lead with gravitas.

Always have a female leading in the room. Because merging assertiveness with intuition and balancing masculine drive and feminine wisdom always makes for better outcomes.

Radical Self-Care 

I love solitude. It was these quiet moments that saved my sanity and my soul when I was healing. It’s now a key part of my self-care practice.

Solitude isn’t isolation. It’s the space where your thoughts get a chance to breathe, your creativity blossoms and clarity bubbles up. And don’t just take my word for it; science backs this up. Studies show that just 15 minutes of quiet reflection can improve focus, reduce stress, and boost problem-solving skills.

In a world obsessed with busyness, carving out time to be—not just do—is actually pretty hard, but it’s critical for your mental fitness and performance.

Too many high achievers wear “busy” like a badge of honour. But guess what? It’s a myth that being busy makes you productive. Productive people are game-changers, not task-chasers. They get laser-focused on tasks that truly move the needle and delegate ditch or dump the rest. They are ruthless with their time and energy.

It’s not about withdrawing from others but about reconnecting with yourself. The better you understand yourself the more intentional you’ll be with your goals.

Consider this:

The average person spends 4.8 hours a day on their phone. Imagine reclaiming even a fraction of that for deep thinking and moments of being.

High performers who prioritise quiet time report being more productive and feeling less overwhelmed.

Pro Tip: Block out time in your calendar for solitude. Start small—30 minutes a day; no distractions, no phones. Use it to reflect, journal, or just sit with your thoughts. Treat it as non-negotiable, like a doctor’s appointment.

Have a conscious conversation with yourself

Sit down and talk to yourself. Sit down and feel whatever there is to be felt. That’s how we heal. That’s how we get rid of pain. It’s not by brushing it under the rug. Pretending it’s not there because it’s going to come back like a boomerang.

When you negotiate with yourself, you build a bond with yourself, you create empathy for yourself. That results in you becoming more calm in conflict situations.  

When you see the suffering in yourself, that’s how you can connect with the suffering in others, and you don’t want to be the cause of it, because you know how much it hurts.

So by being conscious of our pain we become more empathetic. We become better people, allergic to conflict. Because why would you seek out conflict if, if it creates the suffering that you’ve already felt, you don’t want anybody else to feel it. This is how we create peace within ourselves and with others.

Emotional awareness helped me process my vulnerability when I was grieving when I went through burnout, got me through my identity crisis and helped navigate cultural pressures.  

It tested me, shaped me, and ultimately, empowered me to become an advocate for others facing similar journeys—especially for women—who, as we know, face unique vulnerabilities in finding their voice.

A Retreat on The Island Of The Gods and a Girl Named Jodie

It all began with a woman called Jodie Salt – and just like her name she is the salt of the earth. 

I randomly came across her while “retreat shopping”. My first retreat ticked all the boxes, in Bali,  a no-brainer. And the fact I love supporting women-owned businesses.
